Luka Doncic recorded his 80th career triple-double, leading the Dallas Mavericks to a 143-133 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night. The Slovenian superstar tallied a season-high 45 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds in a game that featured an NBA-record 48 combined 3-pointers.

Dallas improved to 17-9, while Golden State dropped to 14-11 in a rematch at Chase Center after the Warriors edged the Mavericks on November 12. This game, rescheduled after both teams were eliminated from the NBA Cup, saw Doncic shoot an efficient 16-for-23 from the field and 6-for-11 from beyond the arc.

The Mavericks set the tone early, jumping to a 39-18 lead after starting 14-for-19 from the field. Golden State rallied in the second half, closing the gap to seven points behind back-to-back buckets from Draymond Green and a 3-pointer by Andrew Wiggins to start the fourth. However, Doncic’s dominance kept the Warriors at bay, as he notched 28 points by halftime.

Golden State hit 27 triples, but their defense struggled to contain Dallas, which responded with 21 of its own. Klay Thompson, facing his former Mavericks teammates for the second time, added 29 points and seven 3-pointers, including two clutch makes late in the fourth quarter.

Stephen Curry posted a double-double with 26 points and 10 assists but couldn’t overcome Dallas’ balanced offensive attack. Andrew Wiggins added 29 points, and Green contributed 21 points, including a season-high five 3-pointers.

Kyrie Irving complemented Doncic with 21 points and eight assists, while P.J. Washington Jr. and rookie Dereck Lively II chipped in with solid performances. Quentin Grimes led the Mavericks’ bench with 14 points on four 3-pointers, providing crucial scoring relief.

Golden State introduced newly acquired Dennis Schroder but noted he would undergo a physical before joining the lineup for Thursday’s game against Memphis.

Dallas held a double-digit lead for most of the game but allowed a late Warriors surge led by Lindy Waters III, whose third-quarter steal set up a Jonathan Kuminga dunk to trim the Mavericks’ lead to seven. Despite the push, Doncic orchestrated key plays down the stretch, sealing Dallas’ win.
