NBA insider Marc Stein shed light on the Nuggets’ situation in a conversation with Harrison Wind on DNVR Nuggets, stating, “It’s been painted to me as eager. They are eager to make a move. I think the Nuggets definitely want to do something. They know they need a shakeup move of some sort.”
Denver’s depth has emerged as a pressing issue, with key bench players struggling to make a meaningful impact. Injuries and inconsistent performances from role players have placed additional pressure on Jokic and starters like Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon. Murray, who has missed time due to injury this season, is yet to fully recapture the form that made him a standout in the Nuggets’ 2023 playoff run.
The Nuggets’ front office is expected to explore trade options that could address their bench scoring and defensive shortcomings. With limited cap space, Denver might need to package young players or future draft picks to acquire the necessary reinforcements.
