Payton Pritchard delivered a standout performance with 27 points, leading the Boston Celtics to a dominant 123-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night. Boston improved to 20-5 on the season with their 20th win, fueled by a massive second-half effort.
Pritchard sank seven three-pointers and continued to strengthen his candidacy for the Sixth Man of the Year award. His performance included his 500th career three-pointer, making him the 10th player in franchise history to reach the milestone. Derrick White also contributed 23 points, hitting seven threes as Boston connected on 20 from beyond the arc.
By the final buzzer, six Boston players had reached double figures, showcasing the team’s balanced attack in the absence of All-Star Jayson Tatum and Sam Hauser, both sidelined due to minor injuries.
Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 18 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. However, Detroit struggled mightily from deep, shooting just 7 of 37 from three-point range, including 2 of 19 in the first half.
The Pistons were unable to build on their recent victory against the Knicks and fell to 10-16 overall.
