The New Orleans Pelicans have made it clear that they have no plans to trade forward Herb Jones, according to sources reported by The Stein Line.

Jones, who re-signed with the Pelicans during the 2023 offseason on a four-year, $54 million contract, remains a key part of the team’s future. His deal keeps him under contract through the 2026-2027 season, solidifying his place in New Orleans’ long-term plans.

This season, Jones has been a steady presence for the Pelicans, contributing 10.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and an impressive 1.9 steals per game while playing an average of 31.3 minutes over seven appearances.

His defensive abilities and versatility have been invaluable, further justifying the team’s commitment to him.

While Jones has struggled with his three-point shooting early this season, converting just 29.2% of his attempts from beyond the arc compared to an impressive 41.8% last season, the Pelicans remain confident in his ability to contribute across the board.

They appear determined to keep him as a cornerstone of their young core moving forward.
