Guerschon Yabusele had been out of the NBA since the 2018-19 season until he was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent during the offseason, marking his return to the league.

His impact was immediately felt by his teammates, especially Kelly Oubre Jr., who was quick to recognize that NBA teams had made a mistake by not bringing Yabusele back from Europe sooner.

“From Day 1 when we got together as a team, I noticed that there’s no way he should have been out of the league,” Oubre shared with Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“But at the end of the day, he’s back and he’s taken full advantage of his opportunity, and he’ll be here for a long time.”

Despite his time away from the NBA, Yabusele’s ability to capitalize on his second chance has made him a valuable asset, and his teammates are confident he will remain an important part of the roster moving forward.
