The Milwaukee Bucks extended their winning streak to six games, defeating the Washington Wizards 124-114 on Saturday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the charge with a dominant triple-double performance, tallying 42 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists in his return from a one-game absence.
Antetokounmpo shot 15-for-24 from the field and converted 12 of 17 free throws. His efforts were complemented by Damian Lillard, who recorded 25 points and 10 assists, and Brook Lopez, who added 18 points, including four three-pointers.
The Wizards, who have now lost 14 consecutive games, were led by Jordan Poole with 31 points and Malcolm Brogdon, who contributed 29 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bucks pulled away late with a decisive 10-0 run in the fourth quarter. Poole missed a potential go-ahead three-pointer during this stretch and committed multiple turnovers, sealing Washington’s fate. Taurean Prince added to Milwaukee’s momentum, scoring 11 points and hitting three shots from beyond the arc.
Milwaukee’s defense also made an impact, forcing 12 turnovers and holding Washington to just 28.1% shooting from three-point range. The Bucks now sit at 10-9, marking their first time above .500 since their season opener.
The Wizards struggled without Kyle Kuzma, who was sidelined with a rib injury. Key starter Jonas Valanciunas managed 16 points and seven rebounds, but Washington’s lack of late-game execution proved costly. Corey Kispert chipped in 16 points off the bench, while rookie Bilal Coulibaly had just four points on 2-of-8 shooting.
The Bucks’ bench also delivered, with AJ Green scoring 13 points, including three triples, and Bobby Portis contributing nine points and six rebounds. Milwaukee shot 51.2% from the floor and an impressive 45.7% from three-point range, demonstrating efficiency throughout the night.
For Washington, the loss highlighted ongoing struggles in closing games. The team kept pace with Milwaukee for much of the contest but faltered when it mattered most. Their current 2-16 record is the worst in the NBA, and their 14-game losing streak underscores the challenges facing the franchise.
