The Los Angeles Lakers snapped their three-game losing streak with a convincing 119-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.
Anthony Davis led the way with 19 points and 14 rebounds, while rookie Dalton Knecht added 20 points, showcasing his sharpshooting with four made three-pointers.
Victor Wembanyama recorded 20 points and 10 rebounds for San Antonio, but his efforts were not enough to extend the Spurs’ four-game winning streak. Harrison Barnes contributed 19 points, and Julian Champagnie chipped in 18 for the home team, which struggled to contain Los Angeles’ balanced attack.
LeBron James notched his third triple-double of the season with 16 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds. Despite a slow first half in which he scored just four points, James turned it around in the second half, adding 12 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, to help seal the win.
The Lakers built an early lead, going up by as many as 15 points in the first half. San Antonio managed to cut the deficit to eight, but Austin Reaves drained a three-pointer over Wembanyama at the first-half buzzer, pushing Los Angeles’ lead to 58-47.
Devin Vassell, returning after missing five games with a knee bruise, contributed 14 points for the Spurs. His performance included hitting his 450th career three-pointer, making him the first player in San Antonio history to reach that milestone within 250 games.
The Lakers shot 53.3% from the field, including 38.2% from three-point range, and committed just 13 turnovers.
Their bench also played a key role, with D’Angelo Russell scoring 17 points on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting night. Max Christie added 12 points and grabbed four rebounds in 21 minutes of action.
San Antonio struggled with efficiency, shooting 42.4% overall and 35% from deep. The Spurs’ turnovers, particularly in key moments, allowed Los Angeles to maintain control throughout the game.
The Lakers’ win improved their record to 11-7, while the Spurs dropped to 10-9.
