The Toronto Raptors secured their first road victory of the season by dismantling the New Orleans Pelicans 119-93 on Wednesday night. Ochai Agbaji and Jamison Battle led the offensive onslaught, each scoring 24 points as the Raptors improved to 5-14.

Toronto entered the game winless in 10 road contests but quickly found their rhythm, shooting 40.4% from three-point range. Agbaji and Battle were especially lethal, combining for 12 made threes on just 15 attempts. RJ Barrett added 22 points and a career-high 11 assists to bolster Toronto’s attack.

Scottie Barnes chipped in 17 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists, anchoring a Raptors squad that recorded a season-high 21 three-pointers.

The Pelicans struggled to contain Toronto’s offense while missing several key players, including Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and Herb Jones. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl led New Orleans with 14 points and 10 rebounds, but the team shot just 38.7% from the field.

The Pelicans were outrebounded 52-47 and surrendered critical second-chance opportunities to the Raptors.

CJ McCollum contributed 19 points for New Orleans in his second game back from injury, while Dejounte Murray added 14 points in his return from a fractured hand. However, Murray struggled with his shot, going 5-for-17 from the field.

Toronto seized control in the third quarter with a 16-2 run ignited by Barrett’s eight consecutive points. The stretch extended the Raptors’ lead to 26, effectively sealing the game.

The Raptors’ defense also played a key role in the victory, limiting New Orleans to just 31.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl combined for three blocks, disrupting the Pelicans’ attempts to penetrate the paint.

For New Orleans, the loss marked their sixth straight and dropped their record to 4-15. Injuries and a lack of continuity continue to plague the team, which has now lost 15 of its last 17 games.
