Jerami Grant has emerged as the player most likely to be traded by the Portland Trail Blazers before the February deadline, according to Sean Highkin of Rose Garden Report in a recent mailbag column.
Highkin cites Grant’s age – 30 – as a key factor in the decision, explaining that he is no longer seen as part of the team’s long-term plans but is still productive enough to contribute to a playoff-contending team.
Additionally, Highkin emphasizes that Grant is a “known quantity” in the league, with a track record that makes him an attractive asset to other teams.
His contract, while perhaps viewed as less favorable now, is expected to become more manageable shortly, thanks to the anticipated rise in the salary cap once the new television rights deal kicks in.
