Portland Trail Blazers rookie center Donovan Clingan will be sidelined for at least two weeks with an MCL sprain, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto.

Clingan, who has been an important part of the team’s frontcourt rotation, is averaging 5.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game in just 17 minutes of action. His absence will leave a notable gap in the Blazers’ interior defense and rebounding.

In addition to Clingan’s injury, the Blazers will also be without swingman Matisse Thybulle for 3-6 weeks due to a right ankle sprain. Thybulle, known for his defensive prowess, has been a key contributor to the team this season.

To further complicate matters, center Robert Williams III has been placed in the NBA’s concussion protocol. Williams, who was expected to help bolster the Blazers’ defense, will miss an undetermined amount of time as he undergoes the necessary protocol.
