The Golden State Warriors made history by becoming the first team to secure a spot in the 2024 NBA Cup quarterfinals.

Their qualification was confirmed thanks to their victory over the New Orleans Pelicans, coupled with the Denver Nuggets’ loss on Friday.

This achievement underscores their dominance in the NBA Cup’s Western Conference Group C, where they hold a perfect 3-0 record.

Under the tournament structure, each conference’s three group winners and the best-performing second-place team advance to the quarterfinals, and the Warriors have already cemented their place among the elite.

Beyond the NBA Cup standings, this win also had implications for the regular season. It nudged the Warriors half a game ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder to claim the top spot in the Western Conference.

This marks an impressive turnaround for Golden State, which has bounced back strong after falling short of the playoffs last season.
