Grizzlies wing Vince Williams’ comeback hit another hurdle during Tuesday’s loss, as he was forced to leave the game in the second quarter due to a right ankle injury.

This setback occurred just three games into his return after missing the beginning of the season with a left tibial stress reaction, according to Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal.

At this time, there’s no confirmation on the severity of Williams’ ankle injury or whether it will result in more missed games. However, given the quick turnaround with Wednesday’s matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers, it seems unlikely he’ll be ready to take the court.

The team is likely to prioritize caution, considering his recent recovery from the tibial stress issue and his limited opportunities to regain full rhythm on the court.

Williams’ availability moving forward will depend on further evaluations, and the Grizzlies may need to adjust their wing rotation to account for his potential absence.
