Dwight Howard is reigniting his rivalry with Shaquille O’Neal by challenging the NBA legend to a boxing fight. The former center recently took to X, boldly calling out O’Neal for a potential showdown in the ring.
“Shaq wassup 🥊 let’s make bread 😂,” Howard tweeted, referring to the possibility of making money from a fight. The challenge comes as a continuation of the long-running feud between the two big men, who have exchanged barbs over the years.
O’Neal, never one to back down from a challenge, quickly responded, but with a twist. “Gotta have more than one ring to get in the ring with me, I’ll stick with a real champion like @RobGronkowski, and you can have the Superman belt, all yours buddy,” the four-time NBA champion replied.
Not one to be outdone, Howard fired back, implying that O’Neal was avoiding the fight. “My bad I didn’t read the rulebook 🦆,” Howard tweeted, suggesting that O’Neal was “ducking” the challenge.
Shaq responded with more humor and a challenge of his own. “If you woulda read it, noticed it says NBA vs NFL with that being said, you can box an NFL guy and then if you win, you can get the Jones of the big man #thegoat #onlyonesuperman,” he said.
He went on to mock Howard’s timing, saying, “You wait till I’m fifty to challenge me, that’s funny. Just join the show and let’s whoop some NFL guys. And if you make it to the Hall of Fame, then we’ll do it.”
