AS Monaco announced on Monday that it has parted ways with head coach Sasa Obradovic. The decision, described as a mutual agreement, ends Obradovic’s second tenure with the club, which began in December 2021.

Under Obradovic’s leadership, Monaco achieved significant milestones, including its first EuroLeague playoff berth in the 2021-22 season and a historic Final Four appearance in 2022-23.

During his tenure, the team also won back-to-back French championships, a French Cup title, and set a record for regular-season EuroLeague wins in 2023-24.

In EuroLeague competition, Obradovic guided the Roca Team through 104 games, amassing a 72-42 record. This season, Monaco currently holds a 6-4 record, placing seventh in the EuroLeague standings.

Manuchar Markoishvili has been named interim head coach. The former player and assistant coach will oversee the team’s preparation as Monaco seeks to maintain its position among Europe’s elite basketball clubs.

Obradovic initially joined Monaco in 2019, leading the team to a successful domestic campaign before departing in 2020.

His return in late 2021 marked the beginning of a transformative era for the club, elevating its status on both the national and international stages.
