Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns powered the New York Knicks to a commanding 134-106 victory over the Washington Wizards, extending Washington’s losing streak to nine games.

Brunson tallied 26 points and 11 assists, while Towns contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds in just 25 minutes.

The Knicks set the tone early, exploding for 40 points in the first quarter and maintaining dominance throughout the contest.

They shot 20-for-40 from three-point range and registered their highest point total of the season. Cam Payne added 17 points off the bench, connecting on five of six three-pointers.

Washington struggled defensively, allowing New York to build a 109-75 lead by the end of the third quarter. The Wizards have now lost nine consecutive games, with all but one of those defeats coming by double digits.

Reserve Pacome Dadiet made a notable impact for New York in the second quarter, hitting two quick three-pointers to give the Knicks a 9-for-12 start from beyond the arc.

OG Anunoby chipped in 16 points, and the Knicks’ starters were able to rest early thanks to the lopsided score.

For the Wizards, Bub Carrington, Jonas Valanciunas, and Corey Kispert each scored 18 points, but their efforts couldn’t keep Washington competitive.

Valanciunas added eight rebounds, and Kispert shot 4-for-9 from deep. Washington’s Kyle Kuzma had a quieter night with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Brunson bounced back from a tough shooting night against Brooklyn on Sunday, going 9-for-15 from the field and hitting five three-pointers.

The Knicks, now 8-6, embark on a road trip to Phoenix, while the Wizards, sitting at 2-11, continue their search for answers in a season that has quickly unraveled.
