The Mavericks snapped a four-game losing streak on Saturday with a 110-93 win over the Spurs, breaking a skid that included an 0-3 road trip. Despite the victory, Dallas, now 6-7, is still grappling with inconsistency just months after their impressive run to the 2024 Finals, writes Joe Vardon of The Athletic.
“(The players) have things that go on outside of the arena, and that’s always monitored (but) those things aren’t shared publicly,” head coach Jason Kidd said before the win over San Antonio.
“This has been an emotional week, starting in Denver, having an opportunity to win there and just the buildup of the game against Golden State with Klay (Thompson). We could be a little bit more concerned of not just the buildup, but what the effects are.”
As Eddie Sefko of Mavs.com points out, Dallas has been facing tough challenges from every opponent. However, some of the team’s new additions remain puzzled by their inability to close out tight games this season.
“We’re still trying to figure it out,” said small forward Naji Marshall. “Stuff happens. Obviously, it didn’t go in our direction, all we can do is get better from here. It’s still early in the season… We’re just having a rough patch right now, but we’ll definitely get through it.”
At 7-7, the Mavericks are still struggling to find consistency early on despite winning two in a row. More:https://t.co/jt0EOynESc
