Jabari Smith Jr., the Houston Rockets’ 2022 lottery pick, delivered a standout performance in a commanding 125-104 NBA Cup victory over the Clippers on Friday, reports Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle.
The 6’11” forward showcased his potential in what could be considered a breakout game, scoring an impressive 28 points on an efficient 11-of-17 shooting while also pulling down 11 rebounds.
Smith’s performance marked a significant improvement from his season averages through the first 12 games, where he had been averaging 10.5 points per game on just 38.1% shooting from the floor.
Despite starting in all those contests, he had struggled to find consistency offensively. Friday’s game not only highlighted his scoring ability but also demonstrated his impact on the boards, suggesting he may be finding his rhythm as a key contributor for the Rockets.
At 7-7, the Mavericks are still struggling to find consistency early on despite winning two in a row. More:https://t.co/jt0EOynESc
