Bronny James’ time bouncing between the NBA and G League is no cause for concern, says Metta World Peace, who views the arrangement as a valuable growth opportunity.
The Lakers rookie was assigned to the South Bay Lakers on November 7 after averaging 0.7 points in 2.7 minutes over six NBA games but continues to travel with the Lakers for NBA matchups.
“I think he’s doing very well,” Metta told TMZ Sports. “He’s not underachieving.”
Metta emphasized that G League stints are normal for rookies and provide a strong development platform. “The G League is a great platform. So many great players and some maybe even future Hall of Famers came out of the G League,” he said.
With time and experience, Metta believes Bronny is well-positioned to succeed in his career.
