Rumors surrounding Trae Young’s future with the Atlanta Hawks have been swirling since the offseason. With reports suggesting that the Hawks were open to trading both Young and Dejounte Murray, the idea of a team rebuild seemed imminent.
However, the only major move came when Murray was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, leaving Young’s situation uncertain.
Despite the trade rumors, recent reports suggest that Young is not in high demand on the market. NBA insider Kirk Goldsberry revealed on The Bill Simmons Podcast that he reached out to several sources around the league to gauge interest in the 26-year-old point guard.
Goldsberry said, “I actually texted a couple of friends around the league just to take their temperature on it. They said there’s no market for him.”
This revelation raises questions about Young’s trade value, despite his status as one of the NBA’s top point guards.
Young, who signed a five-year, $215 million contract in 2022, is currently in the third year of his deal. He is averaging 23.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 11.5 assists per game in 2024-25, with 36.5 minutes of play per game.
