Former Oklahoma City Thunder standout Andre Roberson has officially made the leap to the EuroLeague, signing with ASVEL as a medical replacement for injured guard Edwin Jackson.
Roberson’s move to the French club marks a significant step in his career after establishing himself as a key defensive player in the NBA.
ASVEL announced Roberson’s signing via X, confirming the American forward’s arrival as he joins the team to add defensive depth and experience. Roberson, 32, will bolster ASVEL’s roster with his elite defense and well-rounded contributions on both ends of the court.
Following an impressive stint with Cholet Basket, Roberson caught ASVEL’s attention by averaging 12.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.
Roberson’s career in the NBA includes seven seasons with the Thunder, where he played 333 games from 2013 to 2020. Known for his defensive prowess, he was a key part of Oklahoma City’s lineup, often tasked with guarding the league’s best perimeter players.
His time with the Thunder came to a halt due to injuries, and he spent subsequent seasons rebuilding his career in international leagues.
Now joining ASVEL in the EuroLeague, Roberson brings a veteran presence to a roster looking to climb the standings. The French team is currently 15th in the EuroLeague with 2 wins and 5 losses.
