Houston Rockets guard Fred VanVleet recently shared his thoughts on San Antonio Spurs veteran Chris Paul, highlighting 12-time All-Star’s fierce competitive nature and intense playstyle.

Speaking candidly, VanVleet noted that while he has never had personal issues with Paul, he respects the veteran’s tenacity on the court.

“I never had a problem with Chris Paul ever, and I don’t know if it’s because I met him while I was in college,” VanVleet told Draymond Green and Baron Davis on The Draymond Green Show. “I always held him in high regard, but I definitely know a few people that had some runs with him.”

Acknowledging Paul’s on-court reputation, VanVleet mentioned that he had heard various stories over the years about Paul’s scrappy approach. Known as one of the league’s most strategic players, Paul is celebrated for his skill and commitment, though his intense style has at times drawn criticism.

“He’s like a feisty little dirty motherf*cker,” VanVleet continued, describing Paul’s willingness to do whatever it takes to secure a win. “When it comes down to it, he’s willing to do anything to win the game, and I respect that.”

VanVleet’s comments reflect a broader respect among NBA players for Paul’s competitive mindset, even if his physical approach has sparked conflict on occasion. VanVleet, known himself for his own hustle and determination, has always been one to appreciate players who put it all on the line, regardless of their style.
