Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson is happy to see Ty Jerome making an impact following a right ankle injury that required surgery last season (averaging 13.7 PPG/2.0 RPG/4.3 APG/1.3 SPG/73.7% FG/75.0% 3-PT/83.3% FT through three games).
(via Cleveland Cavaliers):
“He’s been good since we started in open gym in September. He’s been fantastic. I think that injury was a little bit of a wakeup call. I know he’s dedicated a lot of work to his body and getting healthy. It’s paying off, because he’s obviously got great IQ, reads the game really well, but he looks healthy out there. Smart player, connector, and the scoring is an added bonus, jeez. He can play off-the-ball, too. He’s good in the pick-and-roll, really crafty, but when Donovan [Mitchell] & Darius [Garland] are out there, he can play the 2 also. So, really playing well.”
