Three former NBA players have joined the South Bay Lakers for the 2024-25 season. Colin Castleton, Alex Fudge, and Jordan Goodwin are set to bolster the Los Angeles Lakers’ G League affiliate, aiming to refine their skills and contribute to the team’s success.

Castleton has an established history with the Lakers. He signed a two-way contract with Los Angeles on July 3, 2023. In his time with the franchise, Castleton played 16 games for the Lakers, averaging 1.5 points and 3.7 minutes per game. His G League performance was significantly stronger, as he averaged 14.1 points and 9.8 rebounds across 12 games.

After a wrist injury sidelined him for several weeks last season, Castleton’s return to the South Bay Lakers marks a critical step in his professional development. He was waived by the Lakers on October 19.

Fudge is another player returning to South Bay after a brief stint with the Lakers. Fudge went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft. He signed a two-way contract with the Lakers on July 26, 2023. He was later waived by the Lakers on January 6, 2024, and subsequently signed with the Dallas Mavericks. After reaching the NBA Finals with Dallas, he was waived in August.

Fudge’s time in the NBA was limited, appearing in six games and averaging 2.5 points in 6.7 minutes per game. In the G League, he averaged 8 points and 4.4 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game.

Goodwin rounds out the trio. He has had an eventful journey through the NBA, being traded from the Washington Wizards to the Phoenix Suns in June 2023. Goodwin then went to the Brooklyn Nets in February 2024 but was waived soon after.

He signed a 10-day contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in February before inking a two-way deal with them. Goodwin joined the Lakers on September 6, but was waived by Los Angeles on October 18. Like Castleton and Fudge, he joined the South Bay Lakers on October 26.

In the 2023-24 season, Goodwin averaged 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 18.5 minutes per game split between the Suns and Grizzlies.
