Valencia improved to 14-0 in the Liga Endesa after beating Unicaja Malaga 81-70 in a physical encounter.

Leading 46-35 at half-time, Valencia effectively sealed the win from there, but Malaga made the game difficult for the league leaders, but could not get close enough.

Veteran Fernando San Emeterio led Valencia with 17 points as they shot the ball sublimely, going 59 percent from three-point land. [10/17].

Barcelona though stayed hot on their trail as they routed Estudiantes 89-67 at the Palau Blaugrana to consolidate second place in the standings.

Pau Ribas paced the winners with 17 points and five assists as they continued to distance themselves from Real Madrid who lost 86-80 on the road to Laboral Kutxa in-front of a record Liga Endesa crowd of 15,544. The defeat was Real’s third of the season, while for Laboral Kutxa, they are now tied with the league champions on an 11-3 mark.

The loss for Estudiantes resulted in being just one win ahead of basement side Gipuzkoa, as they beat Manresa 89-70 in a polished, all-round display.

Rio Monbus downed Andorra 104-103 after overtime in Santiago as Adam Waczynski hit the game-winning lay-up with 2.8 seconds left to end an enthralling marathon of a match.

And as well as hitting the game-winner, Waczynski also denied Victor Sada with 7.8 seconds left in the extra session, as Sada intercepted a pass and looked certain to give Andorra a 103-102 lead. But instead, the score remained at 102-101, leading to the grandstand finish.

Gran Canaria lost group with the top four though as they were convincingly beaten 92-72 by Fuenlabrada.

Marko Popovic led Fuenlabrada with 21 points and four rebounds as they stay in sixth.

Joventut Badalona snapped a seven-game losing streak as they beat UCAM Murcia 94-84 in Catalonia.

Brandon Paul had 15 points as Badalona finally got back on the winning track.

Elsewhere around the league, Tenerife edged Bilbao 67-64 on the road and Zaragoza beat Sevilla 84-73.
