The Toronto Raptors, already facing a shortage of key players, suffered another blow on opening night as they lost another essential roster member.

Immanuel Quickley, who played just 14 minutes in the first half, was forced to leave after sustaining a right pelvic contusion.

Quickley is expected to undergo further testing on Wednesday night and Thursday to determine the exact nature and extent of his injury, leaving fans and the team anxious about his potential absence in upcoming games.

Quickley’s injury came after a tough fall in the second quarter. He was seen clutching his back and hip and eventually exited the game just minutes before halftime, not returning for the remainder of the contest.

The Raptors are already grappling with a lengthy injury list that includes RJ Barrett, Kelly Olynyk, Bruce Brown, and Ja’Kobe Walter, all sidelined due to different health issues.

Barrett and Walter have recently begun the ramp-up process to return to play, though there’s no clear timetable for their comeback.

Meanwhile, Olynyk is dealing with persistent back soreness, and Brown is expected to be out longer, as he is recovering from a recent knee cleanup surgery.

This string of injuries has left the Raptors shorthanded and uncertain about their lineup depth as they face a challenging start to the season.
