The Oklahoma City Thunder have officially exercised their fourth-year contract options on forward/center Chet Holmgren, forward Ousmane Dieng, and guard/forward Jalen Williams, along with their third-year option on guard Cason Wallace.

Jalen Williams, one of the team’s brightest young stars, played a pivotal role last season, appearing in 71 games (all starts) and finishing second on the team in scoring with 19.1 points per game.

He also contributed 4.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.13 steals in 31.3 minutes per game, showcasing his all-around ability.

His stellar performances earned him NBA All-Rookie First Team honors for the 2022-23 season, and he also finished second in Rookie of the Year voting.

Williams’ continued growth has been recognized league-wide, as he has been selected to the NBA Rising Stars team for two consecutive seasons.

Chet Holmgren, meanwhile, made waves in his own right last season, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team recognition and placing second in Rookie of the Year voting.

He played in all 82 games, averaging 16.5 points on an efficient 53.0% shooting, while adding 7.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.32 blocks per game, ranking fifth in the NBA in blocks.

Holmgren’s versatility was historic, as he became the first player in league history to record 150 assists, 150 blocks, and 100 made three-pointers in a single season.

Ousmane Dieng has been another valuable contributor, playing in 72 games over the past two seasons, where he averaged 4.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in limited minutes.

He also made a significant impact in the G League, leading the Oklahoma City Blue to their first-ever G League Championship and earning 2024 G League Finals MVP honors.

Cason Wallace also had a promising rookie campaign, appearing in 82 games (13 starts) and earning NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors.

He averaged 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 49.1% from the field and an impressive 41.9% from three-point range, ranking second among rookies in that category.

These young players are forming the core of the Thunder’s future, with Jalen Williams emerging as a central figure for the team’s success moving forward.
