The Golden State Warriors have waived Kevin Knox, Blake Hinson, and Jackson Rowe as they continue to trim their roster ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. The move was first reported by NBA insider Michael Scotto, who noted Knox’s six seasons of NBA experience and the strong performances of Hinson and Rowe at the collegiate and G League levels.

Knox, a former ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, had a journeyman season in 2023-24, re-signing with the Detroit Pistons in November and later being traded to the Utah Jazz. However, he was waived by Utah the next day. Last season, Knox averaged 7.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game with the Pistons. Despite his struggles to secure a consistent role, Knox was given another opportunity with Golden State, joining the team for the 2024 NBA Summer League and signing a contract in September. However, he failed to secure a permanent spot on the roster.

Hinson, a standout at Pittsburgh, was waived after his first NBA opportunity with the Warriors. The 24-year-old forward had an impressive college career, earning First-Team All-ACC honors in his final season, where he averaged 18.5 points per game and shot 42% from beyond the arc. Hinson’s three-point shooting ability and versatility made him a potential sleeper pick for the Warriors, but the team ultimately decided to move forward without him.

Rowe, who spent time in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors and played in the Canadian Elite Basketball League, also didn’t make the final cut. Rowe averaged 12.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in 49 G League appearances last season. He joined Golden State’s Summer League roster in 2024 and later signed with the team in July. Despite his all-around performance and defensive versatility, Rowe couldn’t secure a two-way contract.
