The Chicago Bulls have decided to keep Talen Horton-Tucker on their regular-season roster following an impressive performance during training camp and the preseason. Horton-Tucker, a Chicago native, earned his spot by showcasing his skills and versatility on both ends of the court.
NBA insider Michael Scotto reported: “Talen Horton-Tucker has earned a roster spot for the Chicago Bulls after an impressive training camp and preseason, league sources told @hoopshype. The Chicago native averaged 13.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 17.8 minutes in five preseason games for Chicago.”
Horton-Tucker, who played for the Utah Jazz over the past two seasons, has been on a quest to prove his value in the league. He joined the Jazz from the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022, part of a trade that sent Patrick Beverley to Los Angeles. With the Bulls, Horton-Tucker has a chance to further establish himself as a reliable contributor.
During his preseason stint with the Bulls, the 23-year-old forward put up consistent numbers, averaging 13.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in limited minutes. His ability to contribute on both offense and defense, along with his versatility as a guard and forward, made him a valuable addition to Chicago’s roster.
Horton-Tucker’s time in Utah saw him develop further as a playmaker and scorer. Last season, he averaged 10.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 19.8 minutes per game with the Jazz.
In Chicago, Horton-Tucker is expected to play a key role off the bench, providing depth in the wing position. The Bulls have been looking to bolster their roster for the upcoming season, and Horton-Tucker’s performance has earned him a place in the rotation.
