Shaquille O’Neal has revealed his feelings of “professional jealousy” towards LeBron James, who has realized a historic NBA moment by playing alongside his son, Bronny James, on the Los Angeles Lakers. The former NBA superstar expressed his thoughts during a recent episode of The Big Podcast with co-host Adam Lefkoe.

O’Neal admitted that while he is happy for LeBron, the opportunity to form the first father-son duo in the NBA is something he wishes he had with one of his own sons. “I strive off of professional jealousy. I’m jealous a little bit,” O’Neal shared, via ClutchPoints, acknowledging his feelings toward LeBron and Bronny’s unique situation.

O’Neal’s two sons, Shareef and Shaqir, have both pursued basketball careers, but the possibility of playing together in the NBA hasn’t materialized. O’Neal noted, “My son was in that position. Life is all about titles. I would have loved to have that title first.”

Despite his personal envy, O’Neal was clear about his happiness for LeBron and Bronny, stating, “I’m happy for LeBron. He’s always at the crib, playing with my boys. He’s like a nephew to me.” He emphasized his joy for both the James family while admitting he still wished for the same opportunity with his own children.
