Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd announced that Klay Thompson is set to make his debut with the team in the final three preseason games.
This news comes after the Mavericks opened their preseason with a close 121-116 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. In the season opener, Dallas was missing several key players, including Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Thompson.
Kidd shared that both Thompson and Irving are expected to take the court during the final stretch of the preseason. This includes games against the Utah Jazz, LA Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks.
Mike Curtis of the Dallas Morning News reported Kidd’s comments, emphasizing the anticipation surrounding Thompson’s arrival. The Mavericks will have four preseason games in total.
The addition of Thompson brings significant excitement to the Mavericks’ roster. Known for his exceptional shooting ability, Thompson will complement Dallas’s offensive strategy and provide veteran leadership.
Thompson spent his entire career with the Golden State Warriors before joining Dallas. He is a four-time NBA champion and has consistently been one of the league’s most prolific scorers.
