In a historic moment, Bronny James took the court with his father, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, for the first time in a preseason game against the Phoenix Suns. While the Lakers fell 118-114, the game marked a special milestone for the James family.

LeBron led all scorers with 19 points in 16 minutes, also contributing five rebounds and four assists. Bronny played 13 minutes off the bench but did not score in his debut alongside his father.

After the game, Bronny shared his thoughts on the experience. “JJ [Redick] told us we were going to be playing together. He shared that with me early in the day, so I was pretty psyched for that, but I just got out there and felt like a normal game with my teammate, to be honest,” Bronny said.

Despite the excitement surrounding the father-son pairing, Bronny noted that he approached the game like any other, even though his teammate was also his father. “I’m always thinking, ‘Oh, it’s my dad,’ because that’s literally my dad. So I just go out there, and when I’m playing, he’s just my teammate. That’s all I’m thinking at that point,” he added.

LeBron also reflected on the surreal experience, comparing it to something out of “The Matrix.” While the moment was significant for both players, LeBron emphasized the importance of staying grounded and focusing on improving together.

For the James family, the preseason game will be remembered as more than just a match. It was a realization of a dream, as LeBron has long expressed his desire to play alongside his son in the NBA.

The game also held special significance as it took place on Bronny’s 20th birthday, making the moment even more memorable for the father-son duo.
