The Chicago Bulls have signed forward Ben Coupet Jr. to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to a report from NBA insider Michael Scotto. The deal is expected to see Coupet rejoin the Bulls’ G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, where he spent last two seasons.
Coupet’s journey to the Bulls began in college, where he first played for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). After redshirting his freshman year, Coupet appeared in 31 games during his sophomore season, starting in 27. He averaged 11 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Following his time at UNLV, Coupet transferred to Southern Illinois University (SIU) for his senior year. At SIU, he became a standout player, especially in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). In his senior season, he played in all 31 games, starting 27, and averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds. Notably, he led the MVC in three-point shooting (.446) in conference-only games, cementing his reputation as a sharpshooter.
After completing his collegiate career, Coupet made the leap to the professional level. He joined the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League. Last season, Coupet averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game.
The Exhibit 10 deal is a non-guaranteed contract that allows teams to convert the deal into a two-way contract, or offer a bonus if the player joins the team’s G League affiliate. In this case, Coupet is expected to rejoin the Windy City Bulls for the upcoming season.
