The San Antonio Spurs have officially signed free agent guard Jameer Nelson Jr., as reported by Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot, citing the team’s updated roster.

Although the specific details of the contract remain unclear, it is likely a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal. This type of contract can potentially be converted into a two-way agreement before the regular season starts (San Antonio currently has one available two-way slot).

Alternatively, if Nelson is waived, he could still be eligible for a bonus of up to $77,500, provided he spends at least 60 days with the Spurs’ G League affiliate, the Austin Spurs.

Jameer Nelson Jr. is the son of former NBA point guard Jameer Nelson. He began his college career with two seasons at George Washington University, followed by two years at Delaware, and finished with one year at Texas Christian University (TCU) during the 2023/24 season.

As a super-senior at TCU, he posted averages of 11.2 points, 3.3 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.1 steals in 25 minutes per game over 34 games (22 starts), shooting 43.4% from the field, 30.6% from three-point range, and 73.8% from the free-throw line.

After going undrafted in June, Nelson joined the Spurs’ Summer League team, participating in eight games across the California Classic and Las Vegas Summer League.

Though he struggled with shooting (27.7% from the field, 26.7% from three, and 60% from the free-throw line) in a limited role (11.2 minutes per game), the Spurs still see the potential for him to contribute to their G League squad.
