In week 12 of the Liga Endesa, Andorra kept up its aspirations of a surprise slot in February’s Copa del Rey with a 90-79 win away to Joventut Badalona.

Giorgi Shermadini paced Andorra with 19 points and nine rebounds as they moved to seventh place. The top eight advance to the Copa del Rey tournament, which is scheduled for February 19-22.

Another possible surprise inclusion for the three-day event is Fuenlabrada, as they defeated Estudiantes 85-71 and head into Christmas in sixth.

Belgian international Jonathan Tabu led all scorers with 23 points for Fuenlabrada.

Gran Canaria piled more misery on Unicaja Malaga by hammering them 98-65.

Kyle Kuric made his first public appearance since a successful operation to remove a tumour from his brain and he witnessed a complete, all-round performance from the men in yellow as they turned a narrow 24-23 lead into a 59-34 cushion at the half and they never looked back.

Kevin Pangos led Gran Canaria with 17 points. Unicaja, who started the season strongly and are in the Euroleague Top 16, slip to tenth.

At the top of the Liga Endesa, Valencia remain unbeaten at 12-0 after beating UCAM Murcia 65-54 and extend their winning run in all competitions to 22 games.

And Real Madrid kept up the pace in second after they won 79-63 on the road against Rio Monbus.

Barcelona consolidated third spot with a hard-fought 66-57 win over Bilbao. Pau Ribas hit three triples, en route to 17 points for the Catalan side.

Laboral Kutxa beat basement side Gipuzkoa 91-83 on the road, Sevilla got the better of Tenerife 81-76 and Manresa scored an 86-79 home win against Zaragoza.
