The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to return the Seattle SuperSonics’ history if the NBA grants Seattle a new team, according to ESPN.
Sources reveal that if an NBA franchise returns to Seattle, the Thunder would hand back the SuperSonics’ history and legacy to the new team.
This situation would be similar to how the Charlotte Hornets reclaimed their original history after the New Orleans Pelicans had inherited it when Charlotte briefly became the Bobcats.
This move would allow the new Seattle team to fully restore the SuperSonics’ legacy, including its records and achievements.
