The Phoenix Suns have signed Jaden Shackelford to an Exhibit 10 deal, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto. Shackelford spent the past two seasons with the Oklahoma City Blue in the G League.

In his time with the Blue, Shackelford averaged 14 points per game and played a crucial role in their 2024 G League championship victory.

Shackelford first entered the NBA radar after going undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft. Following the draft, he signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Though he didn’t make the final roster, Shackelford was named to the opening night squad for the Thunder’s G League affiliate. During his time with the Blue, Shackelford proved his scoring ability and helped establish the team as a contender.

His performances in the G League eventually earned him another look from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Shackelford re-signed with the Thunder on October 20, 2023, only to be waived the same day.

After being released, Shackelford re-joined the Blue and continued to show his value as a dynamic scorer. On September 4, 2024, Shackelford was traded to the Valley Suns, Phoenix’s G League affiliate.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed deal that often comes with an invitation to training camp. These deals provide players like Shackelford an opportunity to compete for a regular roster spot.

Even if he doesn’t make the Suns’ final roster, the deal allows the team to convert his contract into a G League affiliate deal.
