Isaac Okoro has signed a new three-year contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, securing $38 million in total.
ESPN NBA Front Office insider Bobby Marks detailed the contract’s breakdown on X. The deal includes $10.2 million for the 2024-25 season, $11 million for 2025-26, and $11.8 million for 2026-27.
Marks added that the total guaranteed amount is $33 million, with $4.9 million in unlikely incentives.
Despite Cleveland being $1.9 million above the luxury tax, the team retains the flexibility to adjust their finances if necessary.
Marks also noted that Okoro’s decision to sign this deal instead of opting for a one-year $11.8 million qualifying offer was significant.
Choosing the qualifying offer could have led Okoro to free agency in 2025 but would have risked losing $22 million in guaranteed future money.
History indicates that signing the qualifying offer rarely benefits players, with Miles Bridges being a notable exception.
In his four seasons with the Cavaliers, Okoro has started 216 games. Last season, he averaged 9.4 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, playing 27.3 minutes per contest.
