New England Patriots running back Brandon Bolden recently shared some insights about Tom Brady’s admiration for NBA legend Kobe Bryant.
Bolden revealed Brady’s strong connection to Bryant during a conversation with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on the Scoop B Radio Podcast. According to Bolden, Brady is a huge fan of Kobe and admired how the Lakers star approached the game.
“He’s a big Kobe fan. Huge,” Bolden said. “Their work ethic, how they go about the game, that ‘Mamba mentality’—yeah, I see a lot of similarities between them.”
In the podcast, Bolden shared a memorable moment when Kobe visited a Patriots practice. The legendary NBA star’s presence had a profound effect on everyone in attendance.
“You would have thought they met the Prince of Zamunda, how everybody was just so like, ‘Oh my God, it’s Kobe!’” Bolden said, describing the awe Kobe’s presence commanded during his visit to the Patriots’ facility.
When asked about Brady’s stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bolden was asked to compare it to either Michael Jordan’s time with the Washington Wizards or LeBron James’ current run with the Lakers.
“I’m going to go with Jordan with the Wizards… because Jordan was in the front office before he was in the front office, you know what I mean?” Bolden remarked, drawing parallels between Brady’s post-football planning and Jordan’s time with the Wizards.
Bolden also touched on the unique situation involving James and his son Bronny potentially playing together in the NBA. He expressed admiration for the father-son duo, emphasizing the significance of this potential milestone for a Black family in the league.
“I think it’s dope, to be the first father-son duo in the NBA, especially a Black father in the NBA,” Bolden said.
