The Brooklyn Nets are close to signing Chinese guard Yongxi “Jacky” Cui to a two-year deal, according to Lucas Kaplan of Nets Daily.

Cui, a 6’8″ shooting guard, is expected to fill one of the team’s remaining two-way slots, although the official confirmation from the Nets is pending.

The 21-year-old has had a notable development trajectory, gaining attention after his time at the NBA Global Academy in Australia.

Cui’s strong performances with the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the CBA, where he averaged 15.6 points per game last season, caught the eyes of NBA scouts.

Despite going undrafted in June, Cui joined the Portland Trail Blazers’ Summer League roster, where he showcased his potential with some highlight plays.

Known for his 6’9″ wingspan and a 34″ vertical leap, Cui excelled in a pre-draft workout by hitting 23 of 25 shots in a 3-point drill.

He had offers to play in the NCAA but chose the CBA, where he averaged 15.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists last season.

Cui initially agreed to an Exhibit 10 deal with Portland but opted to pursue a two-way contract with another team, which now appears to be Brooklyn.
