Kiyan Anthony, son of former NBA star Carmelo Anthony, shared his perspective on his friend Bronny James making the jump to the NBA.

In an interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Scoop B Radio, Anthony said, “It’s definitely really cool” to see James enter the league.

Anthony reflected on the significance of James’ achievement, stating, “It just shows that anybody could do it.”

He expressed personal motivation from James’ success, noting, “I’m coming up next, and I could do it.”

The Los Angeles Lakers drafted Bronny James with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, drawing mixed reactions.

Critics pointed to James’ underwhelming college performance at USC, where he averaged 4.8 points per game in 19.3 minutes as the eighth-leading scorer on his team.

Some argued that the selection was influenced more by nepotism than by merit.

James’ performance in Summer League also faced scrutiny, as he averaged 8.8 points per game on 35.0% shooting from the field and 15.8% from three-point range.
