Memphis Grizzlies forward Ziaire Williams recently expressed his admiration for teammate Ja Morant, highlighting Morant’s character off the court.

Williams emphasized that despite Morant’s on-court talents, his off-court persona is even more impressive.

“He flew all the way from Memphis just to come to my camp. As great as he is on the court, he’s even ten times better off the court,” Williams shared in an interview with HoopsHype’s Cyro Asseo de Choch.

Williams’ praise for Morant comes amidst a challenging year for the Grizzlies star, who faced two significant suspensions in 2023 due to off-court incidents.

The Grizzlies star, known for his explosive playstyle and highlight-reel dunks, has been a crucial figure in Memphis’ resurgence in the NBA.

However, Williams’ remarks suggest that Morant’s influence extends beyond his athletic prowess.

Morant’s personal journey has been marked by both triumphs and challenges, including an investigation by the NBA in March 2023 after a video surfaced of him displaying a firearm at a nightclub. This incident led to a brief hiatus from the Grizzlies and subsequent counseling to address his mental well-being.
