Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain recently shared the players he’s most excited to face in the NBA. Among those at the top of his list are Stephen Curry, Jalen Brunson, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant.

McCain emphasized his anticipation for playing against Curry, stating on Podcast P with Paul George, Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, “I mean it’s going to be Steph Curry for sure.” The young guard expressed admiration for Curry’s skills and impact on the game.

He also mentioned his interest in facing Brunson, whose college highlights McCain has studied extensively. “I’ve watched his college highlights. Me and my trainer, he sends me film a lot and a lot of the highlights were just him in college, so I’ve been watching [Jalen] Brunson for a long time now,” McCain said.

James also made McCain’s list. The Sixers rookie shared that he has seen the Los Angeles Lakers superstar in person a few times but never had the opportunity to compete against him. “I’ve seen LeBron [James] a little bit just in person,” McCain remarked. He described the chance to play against James as a surreal experience.

Another player McCain is eager to face is Durant. The 20-year-old revealed that he has never seen the Phoenix Suns superstar in person. “It’s like KD [Kevin Durant], I’ve never seen him before. I feel like I’m just going to be like, wow, this is crazy,” McCain admitted, anticipating being awestruck when he finally shares the court with the Phoenix Suns star.

The 76ers selected McCain with the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. The rookie guard signed a four-year contract with Philadelphia in July 4 and is preparing for his debut season.

Last season at Duke, McCain averaged 14.3 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game as a freshman.
