Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently stirred debate by claiming that Devin Booker and Trae Young are more “natural scorers” than Stephen Curry.

Arenas shared his thoughts on Gil’s Arena, where he discussed the distinctions in scoring styles among the NBA’s elite players.

According to Arenas, Booker and Young fit the mold of a “natural scorer” better than Curry, despite the latter’s reputation as the greatest shooter in NBA history.

“It’s an overall thing. Like, Devin Booker would be considered more of a scorer than Steph Curry… natural scorer,” Arenas said, emphasizing that being a natural scorer involves more than just shooting ability.

He also gave an example of Ray Allen, who was known for his versatile scoring before becoming a specialist in his later years.

Arenas’ comments suggest that while Curry is an unparalleled shooter, his scoring style is more specialized compared to the all-around scoring abilities of Booker and Young.

This view contrasts with the common perception that Curry’s shooting makes him one of the best scorers in the game.

However, Arenas pointed out that Curry, along with LeBron James, belongs in a category of his own due to their unique impacts on the game that go beyond traditional scoring roles.
