
Guerschon Yabusele is returning to the NBA after a standout performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The French forward, who has spent the last few years with Real Madrid, will be joining the 76ers on a $2.1 million minimum contract.
NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed the move, stating, “Free agent F Guerschon Yabusele has agreed on a one-year, $2.1 million minimum deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN.”
This marks Yabusele’s return to the NBA’s Eastern Conference after his stint with the Boston Celtics.
Yabusele’s Olympic performance has reignited interest in his NBA career. At the Paris Olympics, he averaged 14 points and 3.3 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game, showcasing his abilities on a global stage.
In the final against Team USA, Yabusele played a team-high 31 minutes, scoring 20 points and delivering one of the highlights of the tournament by putting LeBron James on a poster.
His time in the EuroLeague with Real Madrid also demonstrated his growth as a player. Last season, he averaged 10.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 23.6 minutes per game, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
Yabusele’s return to the NBA comes after a two-year stint with the Boston Celtics earlier in his career. During his time with the Celtics, he averaged 2.3 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.1 minutes over 74 games.
