Steve Kerr has expressed deep admiration for LeBron James, stating, “I’m a LeBron fan for life,” after coaching him at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This year marked the first time Kerr, who has faced James multiple times in NBA Finals, had the opportunity to coach the four-time NBA champion.
James, at 39 years old, led Team USA to victory in Paris, securing MVP honors and his third Olympic gold medal.
Kerr reflected on his experience coaching James, noting the contrast to their previous encounters as opponents.
“LeBron, what a blessing to coach him finally after all these years of coaching against him and trying to figure out how to beat him and to watch him up close, I’ve said this this past few weeks, his professionalism, how coachable he is and then of course just how gifted he is at everything, every part of the game he seems to have mastered. I’m thrilled to have been able to coach him these last six weeks. I’m a LeBron fan for life,” Kerr said.
James averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game in Paris.
