The New Orleans Pelicans expect Brandon Ingram to be part of the team for the upcoming season.
Entering the final year of his five-year, $158 million contract, Ingram has yet to reach an extension agreement with the team.
Due to a limited trade market, the 26-year-old forward is anticipated to stay with New Orleans as the 2024-25 season approaches.
NBA insider Shams Charania reported on The Pac McAfee Show, “I’m told the trade market for Brandon Ingram is limited… New Orleans wants him to stay and he wants to stay as well.”
Charania added that the prevailing sentiment in New Orleans is that Ingram will remain with the Pelicans.
If the Pelicans do not trade Ingram or sign him to an extension, he will be eligible to leave the team without compensation.
Last season, Ingram averaged 20.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in 32.9 minutes per game.
