The Toronto Raptors have signed Bruno Fernando to a non-guaranteed deal, as reported by Blake Murphy.

The agreement allows Fernando to compete for a roster spot during training camp, with some guarantees kicking in if he makes the team.

Fernando, 25, averaged 6.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per game last season with the Atlanta Hawks.

Originally selected 34th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, Fernando became the first Angolan player drafted.

He was later traded to the Atlanta Hawks and subsequently moved to the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.

On February 9, 2023, Fernando was traded back to the Atlanta Hawks, only to be waived on July 30, 2024.

Fernando’s previous stint with the Rockets included a four-year, $10.9 million contract, converted from a two-way deal.
