Dorian Finney-Smith’s name has surfaced in trade rumors as the Brooklyn Nets enter a rebuild.
Finney-Smith, addressing the speculation, said, “I’m human. So of course I’ve got family always asking me what’s going on and sh1t like that. But I’m just honest,” as reported by Brian Lewis of New York Post.
He acknowledged paying some attention to the rumors but emphasized his current commitment to the Nets. “I’m human so I’m going to pay attention a little bit. But I’m wherever my feet are at. And so I’m a Brooklyn Net,” he stated.
Finney-Smith expressed gratitude for his current position, saying, “I could be in a tougher situation where I’m looking for a job. I know I’m gonna be good regardless.”
The 31-year-old forward has two years left on his four-year, $55.6 million deal, with the final year being a player option. This contract status makes him a potential trade candidate.
Finney-Smith added, “If I’m here, I’m here. If I’m not, I’m not. So I just try to be wherever my feet are at. So I’m a Net right now and I’m looking forward to competing.”
This past season, Finney-Smith averaged 8.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 28.5 minutes per game.
