Devin Booker, part of the star-studded 2024 Team USA roster bound for the Paris Olympics, has weighed in on comparisons to the iconic Dream Team.

Composed of luminaries like LeBron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, and Joel Embiid, this year’s Team USA has drawn inevitable parallels to the original Dream Team.

Booker responded humbly to the comparisons, acknowledging the foundational role of the Dream Team in basketball history.

“I wouldn’t do all that. They laid the foundation. We have a lot of respect for those guys, they paved the way for us, and we just want to keep it going,” he commented, as reported by Gerald Bourguet.

Derrick White, the sole non-superstar on the current squad, stepped in for Kawhi Leonard, who opted out due to health considerations.

The 2024 Team USA roster includes Stephen Curry, Anthony Edwards, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Derrick White, Tyrese Haliburton, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Davis, and Devin Booker.

In contrast, the historic 1992 Dream Team featured basketball legends such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Scottie Pippen, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Chris Mullin, Clyde Drexler, and Christian Laettner.

As Team USA prepares for the Paris Olympics, the spotlight remains on whether this star-studded lineup can replicate the unparalleled success of its predecessors.
