The Los Angeles Lakers are actively pursuing Gary Trent Jr. as a potential significant addition to bolster their roster alongside stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

According to reports from Jovan Buha and Shams Charania of The Athletic, Trent Jr. is among the top targets for the Lakers, who are keen on utilizing their taxpayer midlevel exception.

Trent Jr., currently an unrestricted free agent, last played under a three-year, $51.8 million contract with the Toronto Raptors.

During the previous season, the 25-year-old shooting guard averaged 13.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game in 28.1 minutes of play.

In addition to Trent Jr., Spencer Dinwiddie, who concluded the previous season with the Lakers, remains in consideration for a return.
